PCS-Fiber
(Plastic Clad Silica Fiber) An optical fiber having a glass core and plastic cladding.

Pigtail
A short length of fiber attached to a fiber optic component such as a laser or coupler.

Primary coating
The plastic coating applied directly to the cladding surface of the fiber during manufacture to preserve the integrity of the surface.
